Watch our webinar to unpack how AI and advanced transfer pricing software are reshaping the field, what’s holding companies back, and the practical steps leading teams are taking to turn technology into a real advantage.

As tax authorities ramp up their transfer pricing scrutiny, in-house teams are under more pressure than ever to deliver defensible, data-driven documentation. Many are turning to technology and AI to move beyond reactive compliance and take real strategic control.

But Aibidia’s latest State of the Transfer Pricing Report shows there’s still a big gap between ambition and execution. While more companies are adopting specialist software, progress often feels fragmented - with data readiness and confidence still standing in the way of true transformation.

So how can teams bridge that gap? Join us for this live discussion where we’ll explore how AI and advanced transfer pricing software are reshaping the field, what’s slowing companies down, and the practical steps leading teams are taking to turn technology into a real advantage.

We’ll be joined by three fantastic speakers who each bring a unique perspective to the conversation:

  • Tjerk de Greef, Director of Tech and Data at IBFD, has a wealth of experience helping organizations harness technology and data to drive smarter tax decisions. He’ll share insights on building strong data foundations and how that unlocks the full potential of AI in transfer pricing.
  • Adrian Maasch, Transfer Pricing and International Tax Lead at Super Group, lives and breathes the realities of global tax management. He’ll offer an in-house perspective on using technology to streamline documentation, boost consistency, and stay audit-ready — all while balancing day-to-day challenges.
  • John McSorley, Co-Founder of Ilumis, brings the innovator’s view. With hands-on experience developing intelligent platforms for the tax space, John will dive into the practical side of implementing AI and analytics — and what it really takes to make transformation stick.

Together, they’ll explore the opportunities, obstacles, and tangible actions that can help teams move from ambition to impact.

Key themes:

  • The state of transfer pricing technology adoption
  • Why transformation remains piecemeal - and how to overcome it
  • How AI and automation are redefining TP processes and decision-making
  • What companies should do now to build smarter, scalable TP operations

Insights

What youʼll learn inside the Aibidia report 2025

The rising cost of tax scrutiny
01

The rising cost of tax scrutiny

Heightened tax authority demands are driving up the time and money TP teams spend on audits. Companies with stronger documentation processes, centralised data, and proactive OTP practices are better positioned to contain both costs and risk.

02

The state of OTP maturity

Only 35% of companies have a well-defined OTP process, while 24% have none at all. Barriers to OTP maturity include poor data access, complex business models, and limited coordination between tax, finance, and IT.

03

The importance of structured data

With 72% of companies in fragmented data environments, the report shows how centralised data helps TP teams insource more processes, ensure consistent compliance, and handle audits more efficiently.

04

Technology and AI adoption in practice

42% of MNEs are investing in specialist software, reducing reliance on traditional tools. AI interest is steady rather than explosive, hinting that TP teams need clean, structured data before advanced analytics can add value.

Expert insights

Structured, reliable data is essential for executing a consistent, defensible transfer pricing strategy. Common barriers to structured data include siloed legacy source systems, unclear data ownership, and inconsistent definitions across entities and functions.

We see significant variation in OTP maturity across companies. In many cases, if existing processes appear to work, there’s less motivation to change. However, where we see this changing, is within MNEs that have faced increased scrutiny or operate with more complex structures.

While there are many challenges in accessing the right data for TP calculations and analysis, one of the most significant barriers to OTP adoption can be the misalignment of KPIs between Finance and Tax teams.

Director, Transfer Pricing Advisory, Aibidia

We’re seeing practical AI adoption in areas such as navigating country-specific documentation requirements, researching transfer pricing methods, comparing jurisdictional rules, and tracking global compliance timelines.
