Hi Janika! Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hiya! I'm Janika Trebs, a 25-year-old budding people professional and a recent MSc graduate from Aalto University School of Business. Since the beginning of my studies, I have been aiming towards a career that enables me to work closely with people and have an opportunity to make an impact on the wellbeing, sustainability, and overall happiness in work-life.

What does a typical day in your role look like?

Currently my tasks are divided 50/50 between talent acquisition and people operations. My workdays consist of varying recruitment coordination tasks, collaborating with different stakeholders, as well as planning and organizing employee wellbeing activities and company events. One could say that I'm one of the masterminds behind "all the fun stuff" at Aibidia.

I'm also very interested in data-driven people operations management. Thus, an important part of my job is to “keep my finger on the pulse” at Aibidia and ensure an open dialogue between all Aibidians.

What attracted you to join Aibidia?

Definitely the amazing company culture! All the people at Aibidia are very genuine and motivated, which is infectious! Also, Aibidia offers numerous development opportunities for their employees, which I value highly. Working in a fast-paced growth company means that every one of us has an opportunity to develop, and actually make a difference in how we work.

What gets you out of bed every morning and motivates you?

At the risk of sounding cliché, when I got to know all the people at Aibidia. Even though I got a very good impression of the people at Aibidia during the recruitment process, the reality of working here is even better. Especially in a people-centric role, it's highly important to find a work community that feels like your own.

What’s something that happened that can only happen here at Aibidia?

Every time we have a fun company event, the afterparty ends with a sing along accompanied by live guitar music. I love it!

What would you liked to say to someone considering a career at Aibidia?

You don't have to be scared of the topic of digital transfer pricing! When I started working here, I was no expert in the subject matter. Our thorough onboarding process gives every employee an opportunity to truly understand what digital transfer pricing and our solution are about. After all, you'll be working with the best of the best in the industry!

What youʼll learn inside the Aibidia report 2025

The rising cost of tax scrutiny
01

The rising cost of tax scrutiny

Heightened tax authority demands are driving up the time and money TP teams spend on audits. Companies with stronger documentation processes, centralised data, and proactive OTP practices are better positioned to contain both costs and risk.

02

The state of OTP maturity

Only 35% of companies have a well-defined OTP process, while 24% have none at all. Barriers to OTP maturity include poor data access, complex business models, and limited coordination between tax, finance, and IT.

03

The importance of structured data

With 72% of companies in fragmented data environments, the report shows how centralised data helps TP teams insource more processes, ensure consistent compliance, and handle audits more efficiently.

04

Technology and AI adoption in practice

42% of MNEs are investing in specialist software, reducing reliance on traditional tools. AI interest is steady rather than explosive, hinting that TP teams need clean, structured data before advanced analytics can add value.

Expert insights

Structured, reliable data is essential for executing a consistent, defensible transfer pricing strategy. Common barriers to structured data include siloed legacy source systems, unclear data ownership, and inconsistent definitions across entities and functions.

We see significant variation in OTP maturity across companies. In many cases, if existing processes appear to work, there’s less motivation to change. However, where we see this changing, is within MNEs that have faced increased scrutiny or operate with more complex structures.

While there are many challenges in accessing the right data for TP calculations and analysis, one of the most significant barriers to OTP adoption can be the misalignment of KPIs between Finance and Tax teams.

Director, Transfer Pricing Advisory, Aibidia

We’re seeing practical AI adoption in areas such as navigating country-specific documentation requirements, researching transfer pricing methods, comparing jurisdictional rules, and tracking global compliance timelines.
