Marlon, tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to Aibidia.

I’m originally from the Philippines, but I spent more than 12 years in Singapore before moving to London with my wife at the end of 2022. I’ve worked for over 14 years in SAP-related projects, covering everything from implementations and in-house subject matter expertise to leading a corporate ERP team. Add to that, five years of Big 4 experience in operational transfer pricing (OTP) and operating model design.

During my time as an in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME), I stumbled into the world of transfer pricing during discussions with our head of tax and head of finance about harmonizing data sources and operationalizing processes. This ignited my interest in transfer pricing and tech solutions. Later, while working with a Big 4 firm, I had the opportunity to explore Aibidia's solution for OTPM firsthand, and I knew right away that Aibidia was building something groundbreaking for the industry. It was this perfect mix of transfer pricing and technology that ultimately brought me here.

Outside of work, my weekends usually contain an early morning run, followed by German lessons and exploring the UK’s scenic spots with my wife and pet dog, Moji. I catch up with friends across the globe through online gaming and unwind with the help of Netflix! I’m also a fan of the NBA, Formula 1 and ATP/WTA tennis so I watch those whenever I can.

Describe a typical day for you at Aibidia.

I usually wake up between 6:00 and 6:30 AM and kickstart my day with some floor exercises to get the energy flowing. Once I’m at work—whether from the office or home—I focus on a few main areas: engaging with my team in Professional Services, collaborating with our Account Executives, Customer Success and Implementation teams, providing OTP and SAP subject matter expertise in client discussions, and working closely with our Product and Platform teams to review Aibidia’s solutions. Each day brings unique challenges and opportunities to collaborate with my talented colleagues, which keeps things exciting and fulfilling.

What was the moment you knew you made the right decision in joining Aibidia?

That moment happened during my first week, when I found out I’d be flying to Helsinki for my induction. Meeting my core team in person at Aibidia’s headquarters was invaluable, and it showed me right away how much Aibidia values its new members. It was a truly memorable onboarding experience, and it’s a big part of why I felt so welcomed and so prepared to succeed in my role.

What motivates you in your work?

I’m driven by discovering and creating new solutions every day. This passion for innovation and problem-solving fuels my desire to work closely with my colleagues to deliver value for our clients. Knowing that our work makes a meaningful difference is incredibly motivating.

Tell us about something that happened here that could only happen at Aibidia.

Despite being based in London, I found myself flying to Helsinki three times in my first month! Spending so much time with the team in person was an incredible start, and it’s something that really set Aibidia apart from day one. I haven’t yet had the chance to meet our colleagues in the Tampere office, but based on my experience so far, I’m sure it won’t be long before that happens too!
